Maces
The medieval mace became popular around the 12 century, the early versions were composed of an iron or copper alloy head mounted on a wooden shaft but the was often made entirely of iron. These short weapons ranged from 2-3 feet were used by foot soldiers and were capable of delivering powerful and heavy blows making it ideal for combat against heavily armored foes.
